Planning a Road Trip Around USA in 30 Days

I am planning a 30 days road trip around the USA.

The idea came upon me about 6 weeks ago when I thought about my holiday travels. I was thinking about my travel plans for the holidays and how I typically make a trip back to the Midwest to see my family.

This year, however, one of my best friends in college is getting married on January 3rd in St. Petersburg, Florida.

So instead of buying 3 airplane tickets, renting a car and finding a hotel, I am going to drive through 22 cities while staying with friends, family, and couch surfing hosts.

Road Trip List of Cities

So where am I going? That’s a great question. Here’s the full list of cities that I am planning to visit.

  1. Bellevue, WA
  2. Boise, ID
  3. Salt Lake City, UT
  4. Denver, CO
  5. Davenport, IA
  6. Chicago, IL
  7. Indianapolis, IN
  8. Cincinnati, OH
  9. Pittsburgh, PA
  10. Allentown, PA
  11. New York, NY
  12. Washington DC
  13. Myrtle Beach, SC
  14. St Petersburg, FL
  15. Pensacola, FL
  16. New Orleans, LA
  17. Dallas, TX
  18. Phoenix, AZ
  19. Las Vegas, NV
  20. Los Angeles, CA
  21. San Francisco, CA
  22. Portland, OR
  23. Bellevue, WA

Road Trip Travel Map

Of course I used Google Maps to quickly plot the trip. The trip with non stop driving would take 128 hours over 8596 miles. Most likely I will put over 10,000 miles on my car. Below is a rough map of my travel destinations.
